Cedric Wysingle

Board Trustee

Cedric Wysingle is a gifted creator, innovator and educator who is devoted to expanding the minds and horizons of young people by way of art, expression and creativity.  His core belief is “art gives a voice to the voiceless,” helps build self esteem and provides our youth with a unique outlet for expression and success.

Born and raised in St. Rose, LA, Cedric graduated from Destrehan High School before pursuing higher education at The University of New Orleans where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design.

Cedric served as a Visual Art and Physical Education middle school teacher in Orleans Parish Schools and for the Archdiocese of New Orleans when he discovered how underfunded and ignored art programs were in today’s education system.

He also witnessed an alarming number of students struggling with societal issues such as trauma, poverty, and lack of self confidence. Mr. Wysingle was then obligated to be more than just an educator, but also a father, big brother and mentor to many underserved and at-risk children.

Cedric has since committed himself to the mission of providing young people with opportunities to artistically demonstrate their individual feelings, visions and talents through theory, instructional methods and techniques.
