SUAH Cares — Step Up Aim High

​

Through SUAH Cares, Step Up Aim High extends compassion, resources, and community-centered support to families across New Orleans. This initiative focuses on improving the quality of life, strengthening neighborhoods, and creating safe spaces where residents feel seen, valued, and supported.

​

SUAH Cares responds directly to community needs by mobilizing volunteers, partnering with local leaders, and hosting events that uplift underserved families through both essential resources and meaningful engagement.

Core Community Engagement Activities

✔ Community Feeding Fairs
Providing fresh meals, groceries, and resources to families in need, while fostering fellowship and dignity for all who attend.

✔ Neighborhood Cleanups
Bringing residents, youth, and volunteers together to restore pride, improve streetscapes, and create healthier environments block by block.

✔ Town Hall Forums
Facilitating safe, informed discussions among community members, elected officials, and resource providers to address concerns, share solutions, and strengthen civic participation.

✔ Back-to-School Events
Distributing backpacks, supplies, and enrichment opportunities to help students start the academic year prepared and confident.

✔ Mother’s Day Spa Event
Honoring mothers and caregivers with wellness services, self-care activities, and a nurturing environment that celebrates their daily sacrifices.
